    Ingredients

Here's what you need to make Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars:

Bowls of Cheerios, peanut butter, honey and vanilla.
    • creamy peanut butter
    • honey
    • Cheerios cereal
    • vanilla extract

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

Here's how to make Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars:

A bowl with melted honey and peanut butter.

Place the peanut butter and honey in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals stirring in between until the mixture is smooth and melted. Then, stir in the vanilla. (Alternatively, you can melt this mixture in a small pot on the stove over low heat.)

A bowl ot Cheerios with peanut butter honey mixture added but not stirred.

Pour the Cheerios into a bowl and add the melted peanut butter and honey peanut butter mixture to the bowl.

A bowl of Cheerios coated and stirred with a peanut butter honey mixture.

Gently fold the peanut butter honey mixture into the Cheerios. (See this tutorial on how to properly fold ingredients.)

A pan of Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars.

Press the peanut butter-coated Cheerios mixture into an 8x8 baking pan lined with parchment, patting the top to get things smooth. Refrigerate the bars for 1 hour, then slice into 9 bars and serve.

Hint: I like to use non-separating natural peanut butter here but the normal processed jarred peanut butter works also. Just don't use homemade peanut butter or natural peanut butter in which the oil separates.
