Sweet Chili Sauce is a classic Thai sauce that is sweet, tangy and has just a hint of spice. It's traditionally used as a dipping sauce for chicken, but I particularly like pairing it with seafood as well. Learn more about the history of Thai Sweet Chili Sauce here.

Substitutions
Want to substitute one of the ingredients for this Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon? Here's how:
- Salmon - use a different fish such as cod, mahi mahi or halibut. Increase the cooking time if the fillets are large.
- Sweet Chili Sauce - use a different sauce such as Teriyaki Sauce with this same method.
- Gluten-free - while many brands of Sweet Chili Sauce are gluten-free, not all are, so be sure to check your label if you'd like your final dish to be gluten-free.
Variations
Try one of these variations of Sweet Chili Salmon:
- Spicy - add 1-2 Tablespoons of Sriracha or Chili Garlic Sauce to the Sweet Chili Sauce to increase the heat.
- Lime - add the juice of 1 lime to the sweet chili sauce before brushing on the salmon for a tangier salmon.

Equipment
This Sweet Chili Salmon recipe doesn't require any fancy equipment, you just need a sheet pan and a brush for the sauce.
Storage
Store cooled cooked Sweet Chili Salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
It's safe to freeze cooked Sweet Chili Salmon for up to 3 months but I personally don't love the texture of fish that has been cooked and then frozen so I personally don't recommend it.
Top tip
If desired, use frozen salmon for this recipe, simply thaw it first following the package directions.
