This delicious Takis Chicken packs a bold flavor and crunch from crushed Takis chips. This chicken bakes in just 30 minutes in the oven for an easy weeknight meal.
Takis are a bold and crunchy corn chip that is rolled, coated with a spicy and tangy mixture, then deep-fried to achieve the perfect crispness. This chip comes in a variety of flavors (including the wildly popular Takis Fuego) and is a play on the popular crispy taquito. Takis are the favorite chip of my kids, so I decided to make a fun baked chicken dish coated with their favorite snack. And let me tell you, this was a hit! Pretty sure I stacked up some cool mom points with this meal. This method is also super versatile, so use any chip you like - we particularly like it with Doritos or Hot Cheetos.

Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise into cutlets.
Add the Takis to a food processor and pulse until they are completely crumbled. (Alternatively, place the Takis in a bag and smash them with a frying pan to make the crumbs.) Place the Taki crumbs in a shallow dish or pie plate.
Unwrap the butter an place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, or until melted. Then, brush both sides of each chicken with butter. Then, dip each buttered cutlet into the Taki crumbs pressing to coat.
Place the Taki-coated chicken cutlets on a greased baking sheet and spray the top of each with a couple of squirts of cooking spray. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes, then serve immediately.
Hint: Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or foil prior to baking for easy cleanup.
Substitutions
Want to substitute an ingredient in Takis Chicken? Here's how:
- Boneless skinless chicken breasts - use store-bought chicken cutlets or chicken tenders in place of the breasts to skip the step of slicing them.
- Butter - use an equal amount of oil in place of the butter such as olive oil, canola oil or melted coconut oil.
- Takis - use an equal amount of a different chip. We also like Hot Cheetos with this method.
Variations
Try this variation of Takis Chicken:
- Cheesy - sprinkle the top of the chicken with shredded cheddar cheese prior to baking.
